Allow verified VEC Org Members to bid pool these feature requests
Then if it seems worth the pooled amount of bids to develop/implement a requested feature, the pool can be claimed when done.

Richard BatemanThat certainly seems like an intriguing idea -- if someone wants to find a system to enable it I'm definitely interested in seeing it happen. That said, I don't feel that writing a system to manage that is currently a good use of my time, so I'll keep going on what I'm doing until someone figures it out ;-)

N6ATFWould it need a system per se? Or just a bit of text on /add Suggestion and Add a comment that says "Verified VEC Org Members on ARVEOA Discord, include "bid <amount> or DM me on Discord if your VEC is willing to pool funds for this feature."
Then you can contact them directly if you like the bids posted under their names here (to make sure it was actually them posting). -

Richard BatemanEven that is a system =] whether it's a software system or a procedural system, you need some way of tracking it and some sort of accountability on both sides.

N6ATFOnly you can delete posts/comments here & see IPs, email addresses (which you could tell the VEC Org Members to provide a unique address via Discord in advance of their bids), so there shouldn't be any attempts to evade accountability.

Richard Batemanaccountability is more than just paying for it.
anyway, propose a system and see what people think =] -

N6ATFSince it seems like you want there to be such an extreme level of accountability instead of the gentleperson's agreement that this lowly VE proposed, and any such extreme system should only be proposed & decided between you and VECs... nevermind, I won't spit in the wind.

Richard BatemanI'm just sharing what I envision -- if you think something simpler would work, then like I said: make a proposal and we'll talk about it. I'm just brainstorming things, and I was trying to explain what I meant. For example, accountability to me doesn't just mean "will you pay up", it also means that if I (or a volunteer) accept a task how do I report progress, etc? or do we need that? maybe we don't. maybe it's just a wiki or google doc or something. the point is that someone needs to think through the process and say "I think we could do it like _____" -- and that's all it needs to be.
If you have an idea of how you think it could be done I'm definitely willing to consider it. -

N6ATFThey pay when what they said they'd pay for is done. No progress reports or anything further than this website needed unless everyone wants to make everything take much longer.

Chris FlinnAlwin, I understand what you are suggesting. However if I was to say I would donate $XX for XXXX feature to be completed. I would like to be able to track the progress if nothing more than just a simple Ive gotten about 25% through what I feel is needed to complete the feature type of status update. As well as knowing the person that completes the feature actually gets the money. As well as the people that worked on and contributed to the feature.
So what Richard is asking is not out of the question. I think its valid feedback and request. Maybe there is already some sort of tracking software that can be used to help make this a reality.
This could actually be the first trial of how it would work. This is a feature request (sorta) and Richard is asking for a proposal how it could be accomplished. -

N6ATFSince I am not VEC staff, I will not be proposing anything further, as I said a few posts up.
