Add “What Happens Next” info to the CSCE Email
Add information regarding the follow-up FCC processes to the CSCE Email.
Example Taken from the HRCC Wiki:
New Hams: If you are a new ham, log in to CORES https://apps.fcc.gov/cores and pay your FCC processing fee of $35 once your application has been submitted by the VEC. You can confirm that your application has been submitted by searching the ULS Application Search https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/ApplicationSearch/searchAppl.jsp by FRN. You have 10 calendar days to pay before your application is dismissed. After that, the VEC has to resubmit your application to the FCC. Keep an eye out for an email or two with instructions on how to do this. More info can be found at https://www.fcc.gov/payment-process-uls-individual-filers. It is also recommended to pay the application fee via a desktop web-browser.
Upgrades to an Existing License: Applications will likely get processed the same day as submitted by the VEC. Only new hams are required to pay the $35.

Richard Bateman AdminI'm very open to this, but I don't feel qualified to write the email myself -- if someone wants to submit a suggestion (or get permission to use what is on the HRCC wiki :-P) we can certainly discuss it and probably put it in.

Allan BatteigerThis is unfortunately not quit correct. We have verified and the FCC is in theory investigating the fact they are not even sending about 25% of the emails for payment or with the license pdf. Also we need to check what happens if you pay after 10 days but before dismal. The are not dismissing the application till about 18-21 days after submission. If you try to resubmit after 10 days but before the application is dismissed you will get an error. You have to withdraw the application before you can resubmit until it is dismissed.

Nick n1cckWe know. But we found that explaining all that detail generally just confuses candidate, and they wind up just asking us to simplify the explanation anyways. Most applicants don’t care about how the sausage is made.

Allan BatteigerWe give our in person applicant a handout and online explain that the session will be processed the next business day. If they do not receive and email to start check the fcc.gov/cores for payment due. Unfortunately I just has a class of 18 that none of them received any emails from the FCC. They all had to go online to pay and gt a copy of their licenses.

Ben GentleMost teams have their own way of conveying this info or not, but if they test with ExamTools more than likely they will get the CSCE via email and having the info embedded with that email automatically would ensure the info is provided.
Richard wants an agreed upon format (community comments), I just linked the HRCC one for an all-around example which covers the basics. The 1000 charter limit is well … limiting so we can’t really use this site for that, I suppose discord is the best place to sort the format out. -

Heather KM6ZHow each VEC handles resubmitting a dismissed application might vary and some might even charge? There was talk of that. I think it best to be vague. I sometimes send out a reminder to pay after the FCC has a pending application. That solves part of the I didn’t get the email from the FCC. I wasn’t sure when to pay. I’ve even send text messages when they get really close to ten days. The info provided in the email really should be just the highlights of the process and the last bullet could say check with your team lead or VEC if you have any questions or need help with the process. I am telling applicant to reach out to me after three business days if they don’t see something to pay.
